Despatch and timing

What time is the despatch cutoff?

3:00pm, Monday to Friday. Order and pay before then on a working day and your letter is printed and handed to Royal Mail the same day. After the cutoff, or at a weekend, it goes with the next working day’s post. Bank holidays follow the Royal Mail calendar.

How long will delivery take?

That is down to the service you pick, not to us: Second Class is two to three working days, First Class is next working day, and Special Delivery is guaranteed by 1pm the next working day. Those clocks start once Royal Mail has the letter, not when you place the order. See every service.

Can I cancel or change an order?

Up until it goes to print, yes. Once a letter has been printed and franked we cannot pull it back out of the postal stream. If you need to stop something urgently, email us immediately and we will do what we can.

Files and printing

What files can I upload?

PDF, Word documents and plain text, up to 30MB. PDF gives the most predictable result because the layout is already fixed. We read the real page count from the file rather than estimating it.

Do you print in colour?

Yes. Colour is priced per page and you choose it for the whole letter, not page by page. The calculator shows the difference immediately — switch the toggle and every service reprices.

Does double-sided cost more?

No. Pages are charged per printed side either way, and printing both sides halves the number of sheets — which can move your letter into a cheaper postage band and make it cost less overall.

What does the finished letter look like?

Printed on 100gsm paper, machine-folded and sealed into a window envelope so the address is part of the letter rather than a stuck-on label. It is franked and handed to Royal Mail in the business stream.

Security and privacy

How is my document handled?

Encrypted in transit and at rest while we hold it, and deleted once the letter has been despatched. We keep the order record so you have a receipt and can track it — we do not keep the words you wrote.

Do I need an account?

No. Guest sending works with just an email address, which we use for your receipt and tracking. An account is only worth having if you send often and want your addresses and receipts kept together.

Delivery and problems

What if my letter is not delivered?

If we fail to despatch it, we refund you in full. Once Royal Mail has it, what we can do depends on the service: tracked and signed services can be chased and compensated, untracked Second and First Class cannot be traced. If proof of delivery matters, choose a signed or tracked service.

Can you send to a PO Box or BFPO address?

PO Box addresses are fine on most services. BFPO has its own addressing rules and restrictions — email us before ordering and we will confirm whether your specific case will work.

Can I track my letter?

On tracked and signed services, yes — you get a Royal Mail tracking number against the order. Untracked services have no tracking to give, which is part of why they cost less. Track an order.

Business and volume

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes, above a few hundred letters a month. Rates are set against your actual mix of services and page counts rather than a generic tier. See business pricing.

Is there an API?

An API for automated sending is on the roadmap and not open yet. We would rather say so than list documentation that does not exist — email us if you want to be told when it lands.
